Wellington Harbour & Oriental Bay

You can't beat Rollerblading along the waterfront on a sunny day. Hire rollerblades from a number of places situated along the waterfront of Wellington harbour, and Oriental Parade.

Ferries are crossing the Harbour regularly over to Days Bay. Daily stops at Somes-Matiu Island, a beautiful nature reserve and historic site offering 360 degree views of Wellington region.

Experience Wellington's deep water harbour, grab your friends, hire a Kayak, and spend hours paddling around the bays.

Wellington Zoo

Looking for a truly unique experience? Engage with Tigers, Lions, Red Pandas Cheetah's, the Unique Kiwi Bird , and many more. Each encounter gives you the chance to get up close to exotic animals.

Botanic Gardens

The tranquil Botanic Gardens are well worth a visit, with 25 hectares of Native bush, and a wide variety of Gardens. The Botanic Gardens are always open. If you happen to be around in the summer, check out The Soundshell, set in the midst of the gardens, providing a perfect venue for Summer shows and concerts.

Walks & Mountain Biking

One of the best ways to explore the hills around Wellington is by mountain bike. Wellington's mountain biking park, has 250 hectares of purpose built mountain bike trails for all levels. Its great views, and a great day out.

Enjoy a garden walk through the   stunning Wellington Botanic Gardens , or step back in time by visiting Otari-Wilton"s Bush, the only botanic garden in New Zealand solely dedicated to native plants.

A precious wilderness in the heart of Wellington City, Karori Wildlife Sanctuary is a hidden treasure, a showcase of conservation in action.

Adrenaline Junkies

Bungy Extreme is the Ultimate in adrenalin rides, up to 3 people are strapped into an open capsule, which is connected to 2 bungy cords winched to by 40m towers. The capsule is then catapulted 55m into the air, at speeds of up to 160km per hour in less than 2 seconds, experiencing 5gs. Operating daily @ $35 per person.
